About Us
HumanFuel is a psychology practice building sustainable human performance — for individuals, teams, and communities.
HumanFuel is a psychology practice based in Pennington, on the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. We use psychological science to help people approach life and work differently — building the inner capacity that sustains performance, wellbeing, and meaning over time.
We work across three levels, because we believe individual, team, and community thriving are inseparable. For individuals, we offer coaching and therapy — eco-coaching journeys, mental health holidays, and the MyFuelTank assessment. For teams, we build organisational effectiveness through team health sessions, leadership development, and executive readiness retreats. And at a community level, we bring people together through women's circles, family interventions, and the HER online group.
Our method follows three pillars — Refuel what life has depleted, Stabilise with rhythms that sustain, and Thrive by expanding into what you're capable of. Whether you are a leader, a team, or a community, the work begins with the human.
The Founder
HumanFuel was founded and is led by Dr. Joy Ntetha, an award-winning Industrial/Organisational Psychologist and Leadership Coach with over 15 years of global experience. She coaches CEOs and powerful women founders, creators, and healers — helping them lead with steadiness, clarity, and sustainable performance.
Dr. Joy holds a doctorate in Organisational Leadership from Pepperdine University and Masters in Industrial/Organisational Psychology, trained at UKZN. Her work is grounded in the belief that humanising systems and building Africa's future begins with well-being and human sustainability.
Dr. Joy rarely works alone. She collaborates with a small group of apprentices and junior psychologists who are gaining hands-on experience applying psychology in real-world settings, and draws on a trusted network of senior psychologists — counselling psychologists for therapy work and clinical psychologists for deeper clinical support. Around them sits a wider circle of practitioners in the human transformation and well-being space: transformation coaches for deep inner-work journeys, social workers for family interventions, sound healers, and anthropologists. All of them come together around one shared vision — the art of thriving.
